Anindya Kumar Bhattacharya has been published for the President’s Medal for Meritorious Service on the occasion of Republic Day this year.
He is the first Civil Service Officer from Tripura who got such a prestigious award for Civil Defence activities.
Civil Defence (CD) activities were confined to Agartala city from 1971 to 2020 only. During the tenure of Bhattacharya from 2021 as Director, Civil Defence activities extended in all eight districts. Now, there is presence of trained CD volunteers throughout the State and all other CD activities too are going on smoothly in a professional manner. His motivational approach in dealing with Civil Defence volunteers and teaching style by playing T-20 game in question and answer (Q&A) sessions in Central Training Institute (CTI) reached new heights.
Bhattacharya did his Master in Development Management (MDM) from Asian Institute of Management (AIM), Makati City, the Philippines.
For his vigorous persuasion with justification, Civil Defence old reimbursement claims for the year 2012-13 to 2018-19 which were pending for long got sanctioned by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
He has a proven skill of handling complex issues and coming up with solutions. MHA, Government of India selected Civil Defence functionaries only from six States out of 29 for such prestigious presidential awards.
Bhattacharya happens to be the lone recipient in the category of Director Level Officer in the year 2022.
