Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has said that Agriculture is not just a means of providing food, it is the foundation of culture, environment, and the economy. Speaking at the inauguration of the country’s first Agriculture Hackathon held in Pune today, he said that if we work together with this understanding, agriculture can become a global model in the digital era.
The event was organized jointly by the Department of Agriculture, Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, the College of Agriculture, and various international organizations.
Pawar said, by promoting sustainable and inclusive growth, numerous opportunities can be harnessed and emphasized that farmers should think like researchers and adopt a scientific approach to agriculture. The hackathon has seen a massive response, with over 1,800 participants registering to present their innovations and research papers. These presentations will continue until June 3.
