Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Dipak Majumder spearheaded a special meeting on Thursday to ensure the success of AMC’s Sharod Samman 2023 programme in the state.

Addressing reporters, Mayor Majumder announced that, similar to previous years, Puja committees from various clubs under the Municipal Corporation would be honoured for their remarkable contributions to the grand and successful celebration of the auspicious Durga Puja festival.

“The purpose of today’s meeting is to finalise a date, taking into account the availability of Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha and addressing other logistical aspects to ensure the programme’s success,” stated the mayor.

Awards will be presented to 21 clubs across four zones under the AMC, recognising excellence in categories such as best pandal, best idol, best theme, and best lighting. Additionally, the AMC will acknowledge the best Durga Puja organized by women.

To enhance the celebration, a cultural programme is set to accompany the prize distribution ceremony, adding vibrancy to the event.

Deputy Mayor Manika Das Dutta, corporators from various wards under AMC, and department officials were all in attendance at the meeting, showcasing unified efforts to make Sharod Samman 2023 a memorable success.
