Kabul: Residence of former Afghanistan Minister of Justice Fazal Ahmad Manavi in Rukha district has been set on fire, media reports said on Saturday.
Mawlana Nasrullah Malikzada, head of the information and culture department of Panjshir province, told Khaama Press News Agency that a fire broke out at Fazl Ahmad Manavis house in Piyawasht village in Rukha district of this province in the early hours of Friday.
Malikzada stated that the fire was caused by an electric issue on the fifth floor of that house.
He said the fire was later brought under control.
No casualty was reported in the fire incident.
Major damage was caused to the building.
Local sources in Panjshir told the news agency that a huge library accommodated some 5,000 books of different disciplines in the building was completely burnt to ashes.
