The present central government has been working in service to people in the last 8 years. New schemes are being started in order to ensure further ease of living for the people. Various schemes have been started in the last 8 years for welfare of people and are being implemented. Families across the country are reaping benefits of these schemes, enunciated Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing the nation from Garib Kalyan Sanmelan in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh today.

The Prime Minister interacted with beneficiaries (from different states including Tripura) of different schemes of the central government through video conference. Apart from that, the Prime Minister transferred 11th instalment to farmers all over the country under PMKISAN. Total Rs 21,000 crore has been transferred to the bank accounts of more than10 crore farmers.

While addressing to the nation, the Prime Minister said, the central government has been working to ensure safety, peace and prosperity of the citizens. The governmnet is working towards everyone’s welfare including the poor, the neglected and the Dalits. The freedom fighters have had dreamt of taking the nation to the pinnacle of overall development. He said, there used be coversations on looting, corruption etc., before 2014. But now that time has changed. There are now conversations on topics such as Start-Ups, fight against corruption, welfare of the poor etc. The then central government in 2014 used to compromise with corruption in different schemes. At present, the original beneficiaries are directly getting the benefits of government schemes such as gas cylinders under Ujjwala Yojana, lavatories for every household, Ayushman Bharat Yojana for treatment of the poor, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana etc. As a result, there is no scope for corruption to take place. Now the people are establishing double engine government in every state to speed up the flow of development.

The Prime Minister said, after the present central government took over in 2014, it started the system to provide the facilities of different schemes directly to the beneficiaries though DBT. Through this, not only have the beneficiaries benefited but also the brokerage system has stopped completely. More than 22 lakh crore rupees has been sent to original beneficiaries’ bank accounts through different schemes in the last 8 years through DBT.

The Prime Minister said, the present central government from the beginning has been working towards empowering the poor section of the country. Every state has been given importance for overall development of the poor. As a result, more than 3 crore poor families now have Pucca houses. There is now opportunity for 50 crore poor people to get health treatment of up to 5 lakh rupees free of cost. There is Accident Insurance for 25 crore poor people of up to 2 lakh rupees and Jan Dhan account for 45 crore poor people. He said, clean drinking water connection has been provided to 6 crore families living in rural areas of the country under ‘Nal Se Jal’ scheme. The youngsters of the country are becoming self-dependent through Mudra Loan.

Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Pratima Bhowmik in the programme said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is working to build a new India. This programme has been organized to directly interact with the beneficiaries of different central government schemes that were started socio-economic welfare of every Indian citizen. Both central and state government is working for the poor, youth, workers, women and farmers of the country. She said, people of the state are benefitting from paddy procurement at MSP, Jal Jeevan Mission, Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, PM Mudra Yojana, Jan Dhan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Swanidhi Yojana.

Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Manoj Kanti Deb, Sabhadhipati of West Tripura Zilla Parishad Antara Sarkar Deb, Secretary Saradindu Choudhury, Secretary Tapas Roy and beneficiaries of different schemes of West Tripura district attended the programme. Garib Kalyan Sanmelan from Shimla has been directly broadcasted today in Udaipur of Gomati district, in Belonia of South Tripura district, in Bishramganj of Sepahijala district, in Khowai of Khowai district and in Kailasahar of Unakoti district. Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma, Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, Social Welfare and Social Education Minister Santana Chakma, Jail Minister Ram Prasad Pal and Tribal Welfare Minister Rampada Jamatia were present in these district level programmes.
