A three-day National Conference of Chief Secretaries is being organized in Dharamsala, Himachal Pradesh from today. It will deliberate to further strengthen the partnership between the Central and State Governments.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will chair over first National Conference of Chief Secretaries tomorrow and day after at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala.
AIR correspondent reports,More than 200 participants representing the Central Government, all States/ UTs and domain experts will take part in the conference. The concept and agenda of this conference has been prepared after more than 100 rounds of deliberations over a period of six months.
Three themes have been identified for detailed deliberations in the Conference: (i) Implementation of the National Education Policy; (ii) Urban governance; and (iii) Crop diversification and achieving self-sufficiency in oilseeds, pulses and other agri-commodities.
The conference will lay emphasis on the development and implementation of a common development agenda and a roadmap for united action to achieve the aspirations of the people.  
The outcome of the conference will be discussed later in a meeting of the Governing Council of NITI Aayog, in which chief ministers and administrators of all states and union territories will be present, to finalize an action plan with broad consensus at the highest level.
