Under the aegis of Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, the State Health department organized a Block Level Health Fair today at Bru Settlement area within Labancherra Village Commiittee, Hambai Para under Manu RD Block of Longtharai Valley sub-division. MLA Diba Chandra Hrangkhawl, MLA Sambhu Lal Chakma, MDC of TTAADC Hangsha Kumar Tripura and Sanjoy Das, SDMO of Longtharai Valley Dr. Paul Darlong, Dhalai District Health & Family Welfare Officer of CMO office, Ambassa Dr. Bikash Debbarma, leaders of Bru Settlement Committee Lal Dingliana Reang and others graced the program with their presence.

 MLA Diba Chandra Hrangkhawl as an inagurator of the program called on inhabitants of Bru Settlement area and adjacent villages to maintain peace and harmony to uphold better livelihood and for all round developmental activities to be done in the long run. DWHO, Ambassa Dr. Bikash Debbarma informed that two ASHA workers of Hambai Para will be appointed in Lalcherra PHC, the nearest PHC of the zone, which is under the process presently to become functional 24*7 to provide various healthcare services to the locals.

Bru leaders expressed their gratitude for conducting such health fair. It is to be noted that total 301 Bru families are residing there at present. About 500 families are expected to settle there in near future at Hambai Para. 22 different stalls were opened carrying various health information to generate awareness among the people. Total 1050 persons, young and old got their health checked up and were given treatment and free medicines. Doctors and Medical team of Nepaltilla PHC, Dhumucherra PHC, 82 Miles PHC, Manughat CHCof Manu RD Block and Chailengta Sub-Divisional Hospital have participated in the health fair. Locals residing in 5 adjacent villages benefitted from this.
