Home Minister Amit Shah will begin his three-day tour to North East today, October 7. In the first leg of his visit to Sikkim today, he will unveil a statue of Sardar Patel and take part in Dairy Conclave in Gangtok. He will reach Guwahati in the evening. He will be joined by the BJP President J. P. Nadda. Both the leaders will take part in various events in Assam including the party’s state core committee meeting this evening. 

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Union Ministers Sarbananda Sonowal and Rameshwar Teli, and state BJP President Bhabesh Kalita will also take part in the meeting. Tomorrow, both leaders will inaugurate BJP’s new state office at Basistha Chariali in Guwahati. 

Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha will also fly to Guwahati along with Chief secretary J K Sinha on Friday after inaugurating the Immersion Carnival.

Sources said, apart from administrative matters in which Chief Secretary will also attend , the senior BJP leaders will also discuss party matters.

The meetings will hold in threadbare about the political situation in the North East where Tripura matters relating to the election preparedness as well as alliance issues would also come up for discussion. The alliance with TIPRA motha will, sources indicate, take centre part of the political discussion.

Later, they will address a rally of over 45 thousand party workers at Khanapara. AIR Correspondent reports that the Home Minister will also take part in the North East Council’s meeting in Guwahati and SP’s conference to be held at Dergaon on Sunday, October 9.
