On Sunday, the Delhi Police said that it has increased security measures around churches and metro stations in the capital city, following the Kerala convention centre explosion. The Special Cell of the Delhi Police is in constant touch with intelligence agencies and is taking any input seriously. Mumbai Police has beefed up security in areas like main markets, churches, metro stations, bus stands, railway stations, and other public places. As per the police, security measures have been heightened at Chabad House, a Jewish center in Mumbai, due to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas.
Following the series of explosions in Kerala, Prashant Kumar, the SDG Law and Order for Uttar Pradesh, instructed all districts to stay vigilant. Security agencies have been put on high alert, and teams are actively looking into the information received over the past few days.
A woman was killed and over 50 people sustained injuries in the multiple blasts that took place during a Christian religious gathering at a convention center at Kalamassery in Ernakulum district on Sunday morning.
The explosions took place at the centre of the prayer hall, where at least 2,000 members of Jehovahs Witnesses had gathered for the concluding day of their three-day-long prayer meeting.
