Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Sunday emphasized on the importance of transparency in public service and said that a clean environment is crucial for good health, and it is the foundation for a strong and prosperous India.

Dr. Saha said this while participating in the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ program on Sunday.

The event, organized on the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary, took place at MBB Chowmuhani adjacent to Kaman Chowmuhani in Agartala.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged all citizens to participate in the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan on the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary on October 2 and on his Mann Ki Baat program he conveyed this message to the nation.

“Since taking office in 2014, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Swachh Bharat Mission, which has been consistently implemented nationwide. On Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary, the Prime Minister called for at least one hour of Shramdaan to foster a peaceful environment. Under his guidance, the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ program was carried out in various parts of the state on Sunday. In addition, the state government is dedicated to realizing ‘Swachh Bharat, Swachh Tripura’. However, achieving a clean Tripura requires not only physical effort, but also a shift in mindset”, said Dr Saha.

He also emphasized that a clean environment is essential for good health, and it is healthy citizens who will contribute to building a strong and prosperous India.

In addition to the Chief Minister, Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Dipak Majumdar, Chief Secretary JK Sinha, Director General of Police Amitabh Ranjan, and other officials were present at the program.
