In a recent development, the Joint Recruitment Board, Tripura (JRBT), published the final merit list for Group-C posts, sparking controversy and mixed reactions among aspirants- mostly on the matter of candidates from out side of the state getting the job in Group C etc.
Agriculture Minister Ratanlal Nath , on Wednesday, however , clarified that the domicile certificate (PRTC) was not mandatory at the time of the interview for these posts. He stated that the number of outside candidates who cleared the JRBT-conducted examination for Group-C posts was very few. He also noted that the domicile certificate requirement was made mandatory for all direct recruitments only recently. He also pointed out that the number of the candidates selected from outside of the state was very less.
Recommendation for 10,323 Terminated Teachers: Minister Nath further disclosed that some aspirants from the 10,323 terminated teachers’ groups had been recommended for the job based on their merits, adding another layer of controversy to the situation.
Mixed Response Among Aspirants: The publication of the JRBT results generated a mixed response among aspirants. Some candidates, who failed to secure a position in the merit list, have questioned the recommendation of outside candidates.
Confusion Over Merit List: Another section of aspirants has expressed confusion over the merit list, citing a lack of clarity regarding how the total marks were calculated. They have also raised concerns about the non-availability of eligible candidates for 430 out of the 2410 Group-C posts. As one aspirant commented, “There were over 7000 aspirants who qualified the written examination based on merits, but we don’t know about the marks given in the viva-voce. According to the merit list, there was no suitable or eligible candidate for 430 posts, which raises suspicions.”
As the controversy surrounding the JRBT’s Group-C merit list has cast doubts on the transparency and fairness of the selection process all are eagerly awaiting further clarification from JRBT officials to address these concerns and provide a clearer understanding of the selection criteria
