Tripura is set to receive Rs 709 Crore out of total sanctioned Rs 2800 crore under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana -Gramin . The funds, according to sources in the secretariat would be released on Sunday.
The fund is being released with the special initiative taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Chief Secretary Kumar Alok also informed the Centre’s decision and Prime Minister’s initiative in this regard.
The funds is meant for building Pucca house for 1.48 lakhs beneficiaries from across Tripura. Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb had taken up the matter with New Delhi on several occasions and also with the Prime Minister while on visits to the capital.
“Hon’ble Prime Minister will initiate transfer of Rs 709 Cr to 1.48 lakh PMAY Gramin beneficiaries on 14th November. Got the opportunity to brief Hon’ble PM about initiatives taken by Tripura Govt to implement PMAY and NRLM”, a senior official said. The Chief Minister through his official social media handles also posted some informative videos related to the scheme.
