Trinamool Congress is trying to sail on the emotions of the common people spreading misinformation instead of proper political policy and also misguided the Apex Court said, Information and Cultural Affairs Minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Friday.

The minister claimed that the TMC had made false submission before the Supreme Court of India in its writ petition recently in an attempt to paint the state government in a poor light. The TMC falsely claimed that their contesting candidates had been facing attacks and intimidation in the hands of the ruling party.

Chowdhury said, “the Supreme Court of India has passed an order or to say a verdict giving specific directives to the police superintendents and Director General Police Tripura to ensure safety and security of opposition candidates contesting in the urban local body elections. But, what TMC has submitted before the Supreme Court of India is far away from the truth”.

Chowdhury said, in Tripura all political parties are free to contest the civic elections and the police and administration are committed to hold the elections in absolute free and fair manner.

He also referred to recent false campaign by a section to blow the Tripura situation out of proportion claiming communal clashes in the state in the wake of attacks in Bangladesh on Sanatan dharma people.
