
Legislative Assembly Speaker, Biswabandhu Sen, inaugurated the Pradhan Mantri Schools for Rising India (PM-SHRI) program on Tuesday at Dharmanagar Government Girls’ HS School. The initiative aims to develop selected schools as green schools and deliver high-quality education.
In 2022, the Tripura government announced the inclusion of 156 schools in the state under the PM-SHRI Yojana. These schools will benefit from improved infrastructure, innovative pedagogy, and technology, showcasing the implementation of the National Education Policy-2020.
Speaker Biswabandhu Sen emphasized that the selected schools will evolve as exemplar institutions over time. Six schools in the North Tripura district have been included in the PM-SHRI Yojana: Dharmanagar Higher Secondary School, Kalachara Higher Secondary School, Churaibari Higher Secondary School, Ganganagar Higher Secondary School, Bilthai Higher Secondary School, and Dasda High School.
Sen highlighted that under the PM-SHRI Yojana, a continuous evaluation of the learning process will take place, enabling students to excel in both academics and co-curricular activities.
The students and parents of Dharmanagar Government Girls’ HS School expressed their gratitude to the government for including their school in the PM-SHRI Yojana. With the supervision of the central government, studies at the school will now continue.
Pradyut Dey Sarkar, Chairperson of Dharmanagar Municipal Council, and Shyamal Nath, Principal of Dharmanagar Govt. Girls’ HS School, among others, were present at the inauguration ceremony.
The PM-SHRI Yojana is expected to uplift the educational infrastructure and provide a conducive environment for learning in Tripura, ultimately enhancing the quality of education and nurturing the talents of students in the state.
