Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Singh Thakur has expressed grief on the demise of Gitanjali Aiyar. In a tweet, Mr Thakur said, she was one of the first and finest English news anchors on Doordarshan and All India Radio.
He said, a trailblazer and pioneer, Gitanjali Aiyar brought credibility, professionalism, and a distinct voice to every news report, leaving an indelible mark in the journalism and broadcasting industries.
The Minister expressed condolences to her family and loved ones. Gitanjali Aiyar passed away in New Delhi yesterday at the age of 76.
