Expressing gratitude to the central government, Minister Choudhury highlighted that Tripura has received the highest number of houses among all the northeastern states from the Ministry of Rural Development. This substantial allocation of houses is a testament to the government’s commitment to providing affordable housing to the people of Tripura.
Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Tripura was already allotted 2,01,000 houses, and a majority of the construction work has been completed. Presently, there are 84,000 houses that are still under construction, with the assurance from the minister that these remaining residences will be completed at the earliest.
Furthermore, the state has also been granted an allocation of 87,000 houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban project, with 53,000 houses already constructed. This demonstrates the comprehensive efforts being made to address the housing needs of both rural and urban areas in Tripura.
Minister Choudhury expressed his optimism regarding the positive impact this housing allocation will have on the socio-economic status of the state. By providing adequate housing, the government aims to uplift the living conditions and enhance the overall quality of life for the people of Tripura.
Moreover, the allocation of additional houses under the PMAY scheme in Tripura is a step towards fulfilling Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of sustainable housing for all. The government’s commitment to ensuring affordable and accessible housing reflects its dedication to inclusive development and improving the well-being of citizens across the country.
The construction of these houses not only provides shelter to families but also generates employment opportunities and stimulates economic growth. It is anticipated that the completion of these housing projects will contribute to the overall development of Tripura and accelerate progress in various sectors.
With the allocation of 1,30,695 additional houses, the government’s commitment to providing affordable housing to the people of Tripura is evident. This significant achievement under the PMAY scheme is poised to transform the lives of numerous individuals and families in the state, bringing them closer to their dreams of owning a safe and secure home.
