Telecom major Vodafone on Tuesday said it might cut 11,000 jobs over three years.

In a statement, the company said: 11,000 role reductions planned over three years, with both HQ and local markets simplification.

Vodafone was one of the largest telecom companies in the world nearly two decades ago.

Vodafone employs 104,000 people worldwide, according to its latest annual report. Apart from the United Kingdom, it is a major provider of mobile networks in Germany, Spain, Italy and parts of Africa, reports CNN.
