The Oil and Gas Conservation Awareness Drive, ‘Sanrakshan Kshamta Mahotsav’ (SAKSHAM) 2023, was inaugurated with great enthusiasm at the Tripura Asset by the Executive Director and Asset Manager of ONGC Tripura Asset, Tarun Malik. The event saw a large participation from the ONGC community posted at the Badharghat Base Office Complex in Agartala.
In his address, Malik emphasized the need for promoting measures to conserve petroleum products for fostering environment protection, energy security, and sustainable development. He also highlighted the importance of generating awareness among the masses about the benefits and methods of conserving petroleum products. Malik urged employees present at the event to contribute wholeheartedly to the energy-saving campaign, Saksham-2023, and come up with ideas for energy conservation.
As part of Saksham-2023, a free Pollution Under Control (PUC) camp was held at the Tripura Asset premises on April 29, where over 200 vehicles, from within and outside ONGC, came in to have their emissions checked free of cost. The event aimed to encourage capacity building, greater R&D efforts aimed at petroleum conservation and environment protection, fuel-efficient technologies, and alternate fuels and renewables.
Overall, the inauguration of SAKSHAM-2023 at Tripura Asset is a commendable initiative by ONGC that will contribute to promoting energy conservation and awareness among the masses, which will lead to a sustainable future.
The ONGC is the biggest company that has been engaged in natural gas exploration across the state for four decades.
The Tripura Asset of the ONGC has also been involved in various Good Samaritan works in the state.
