Kohima/IBNS: Hiroshi Suzuki, Japans ambassador to India, arrived in Nagaland for a two-day visit on Sunday.

Accompanied by a team of embassy counselors, Suzuki visited several historical sites in and around Kohima, such as the Heritage Village Kisama, World War Museum, War Cemetery, and Kohima Cathedral, Nagaland Post.

During his visit, he also had the opportunity to meet individuals who are involved in the collection of remains of Japanese soldiers who were buried in and around Kohima during World War II.

Taking to twitter, Suzuki stated, Visited Nagaland for the first time. I had a fabulous lunch with 3 ladies from the Kohima Japanese Bone Collecting Team.

They have been contributing to the Japanese bone collection mission for decades. I very much enjoyed the local delicacies of Nagaland.

Their episode of friendship with Japanese veterans and their family touched my heart, the ambassador stated further.

Stories of elder leaders were very touching, and I thanked the people of Kohima village for their generosity in extending friendship to Japan and assistance to bone collection efforts. I prayed for peace at the Kohima War Museum and the Kohima War Cemetery. pic.twitter.com/BPwkyQkwE7
