Chief Minister of Tripura Prof.(Dr.) Manik Saha gave emphasis on bamboo based industries in Tripura that, he wflt would help achieve a greener environment to a great extent. The Chief Minister who was speaking speaking with the media person in the side line of the Science 20 Summit at Haphania said,t “We had a held a meeting on Bamboo and laying stress on the bamboo industry. Based of bamboo we can do so many things. The purpose of this conclave is to explore innovative solutions that can help in tackle climate change while providing access to clean energy sources. We are already working on renewable energy like solar, biomass. We are also working on generating ‘Green Hydrogen’ for renewable energy from bamboo. In this conclave we are giving stress on producing of ‘Green Hydrogen’ from Bamboo. Several scientists in our country and also by foreign delegates during the G-20 conclave have suggested that we should give more emphasis on green hydrogen”, CM Dr Saha said.

He said that as generating wind energy is not feasible and the Tripura government is working on solar energy and already 107 megawatt solar energy the state government are generating.

“We have already set up 18 micro grid stations in rural hamlets. Total 274 micro grids stations are in the pipeline. Under bio mass around 2, 500 families have covered but now the main agenda is ‘Green Energy’. Whatever is being discussed here in the conclaves will be collectively placed and later area-specific suitable projects will be initiated”, the CM said.

Briefing of the media by Chair Science-20 Ashutosh Sharma said that “major theme of G-20 is one earth One Family and one future and this is very true for our climate changes. All the challenges with regard to Climate are global Challenges and that is where the importance of the G-20 lies. Through G-20 all can work together as global force to address the challenges faced due to climate changes. He also added that “clean energy is very important for sustainable future and development and that is why we need clean energy for greener future and which is also the theme of discussion on the 1st day of Scvience-20 meeting here in Agartala.”

While speaking with the media Professor Ajai Sood Principal Scientific Adviser, Govt. of India said that On 4th January Green Hydrogen mission was launched by Government of India which shows the seriousness of the Government of India and the responsibility it has with regard to  address the climate changes. He also added that India has made a commitment for net zero Carbon emission by 2070  and added that there are many verticals to get net zero carbon emission and  Government of India is committed to meet the challenges whatever comes towards that direction.
