Ed Sheeran has shared behind-the-scenes footage of recording ‘Tu Mil Jaaye’, his Bollywood debut song for Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film ‘King’. Featuring Arijit Singh and Sachin-Jigar, the collaboration originated from Sheeran’s long-standing friendship with the Bollywood superstar.

International singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran has given fans a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the recording of ‘Tu Mil Jaaye’, his upcoming Bollywood song for Shah Rukh Khan’s much-anticipated film ‘King’. The British music star shared a video on Instagram featuring his recording session, offering insights into how the special musical collaboration came together.

On Tuesday, Sheeran shared the behind-the-scenes video through a joint Instagram post with Shah Rukh Khan. In the clip, the singer can be seen singing in Hindi while music composer Jigar Saraiya of the popular composer duo Sachin-Jigar joins him in the studio. The song also features the vocals of acclaimed Indian playback singer Arijit Singh, making it a collaboration between some of the biggest names in international and Indian music.

Recalling the beginning of his association with Shah Rukh Khan, Sheeran revealed that the Bollywood superstar had expressed his desire to have him contribute a song to his next film when they first met. According to the singer, Shah Rukh had also suggested that the project could mark his first Bollywood song.

Over the years, the two celebrities maintained their friendship and gradually developed a close bond. Sheeran explained that their professional collaboration eventually became a reality during his recent visit to India.

During the trip, the singer visited Shah Rukh Khan’s residence to request the actor to appear in a cameo for the music video of his song ‘Sapphire’, which also featured Arijit Singh. It was during this meeting that Shah Rukh introduced Sheeran to music composer Jigar Saraiya.

The introduction proved significant, as Sheeran subsequently wrote and recorded his verse for ‘Tu Mil Jaaye’ that very night for the film ‘King’.

Sharing his excitement about the project, Sheeran described the collaboration with Arijit Singh as particularly special. He expressed happiness about bringing together several people he admires and enjoys working with on a single musical project.

In his Instagram caption, the singer recalled his first meeting with Shah Rukh and expressed affection for the actor, highlighting how their friendship had developed over the years. He also mentioned that the song was recorded following his meeting with the superstar and the introduction to Sachin-Jigar.
