Benchmark domestic equity indices surged around 1.6 per cent today, extending their winning streak for the fourth consecutive session. The Sensex jumped 1,225 points to close at 76,918. The Nifty climbed 370 points to settle at 23,811.
In the broader market on the National Stock Exchange, the Midcap 100 index gained 1.1 per cent and the Smallcap 100 index added 0.3 per cent.
