New Delhi/IBNS: Indias Saweety Boora won the gold medal in the 81kg category of the IBA Womens World Boxing Championship by defeating Wang Lina of China 4-3 in the final at the IG Stadium.

The contest was closely fought, with Wang Lina attempting to take control, but Saweety defended her lead throughout all three rounds.

Earlier in the day, Indias Nitu Ghanghas won the gold medal in the 48kg category by defeating Lutsaikhan Altansetseg of Mongolia 5-0.
