Tripura Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu listened to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 138th Mann Ki Baat at Lok Bhavan, highlighting nation-building, youth participation, drug-free India and the One District, One Product initiative while urging Tripura to promote bamboo and indigenous products.
Tripura Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu listened to the 138th episode of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s monthly radio programme, Mann Ki Baat, at Lok Bhavan in Agartala on Sunday morning. The programme was attended by officers and employees of Lok Bhavan, their family members, security personnel and CRPF personnel posted at the Governor’s residence.
The gathering provided an opportunity for officials, staff members and security personnel to participate together in the nationwide engagement associated with Mann Ki Baat. The participants listened attentively to the Prime Minister’s address, which highlighted various matters of national importance, social initiatives and inspiring contributions from people across the country.
Speaking to the media after the programme, Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu said that Mann Ki Baat provides a platform through which Prime Minister Narendra Modi brings various developmental activities, achievements and initiatives before the people. He said the monthly programme also highlights issues of public concern and encourages citizens to remain aware, alert and actively involved in nation-building.
The Governor said that the programme has consistently encouraged citizens, particularly young people, to contribute to the development and progress of the country. He stressed the importance of collective participation and responsible citizenship in building a stronger and more developed India.
Governor Nallu also highlighted the Prime Minister’s repeated appeal to citizens to contribute towards efforts to make India free from drug abuse. He urged people to undertake initiatives to spread awareness about the harmful effects of drugs and work collectively towards creating a drug-free society.
According to the Governor, Mann Ki Baat has also emphasized the importance of promoting the One District, One Product (ODOP) initiative. He called upon the people of Tripura to make greater efforts to promote the state’s unique products and help them gain wider recognition in national and international markets.
In this context, Governor Nallu particularly urged people to promote Tripura’s rich bamboo resources and traditional bamboo products. He also emphasized the potential of locally produced and indigenous edible items to reach wider markets.
Tripura has a long tradition of bamboo-based craftsmanship, and the Governor’s appeal focused on creating greater visibility for such locally produced goods. Promoting indigenous products, he said, can help showcase the state’s resources and traditional skills beyond Tripura.
The Governor’s remarks also placed emphasis on public participation in development-oriented initiatives. Through awareness, community involvement and promotion of local products, citizens can contribute to broader economic and social development efforts.

The Mann Ki Baat programme at Lok Bhavan brought together government personnel, their families and security staff to listen to the Prime Minister’s monthly address. The event also provided an opportunity to reflect on issues including youth participation, social responsibility, drug abuse prevention and the promotion of local products.
Secretary to the Governor U.K. Chakma was also present during the programme at Lok Bhavan, Agartala.
