Tripura Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury inspected ongoing modern motor stand projects at Jolaibari and Santirbazar, reviewing construction progress and quality. He directed officials and agencies to complete the projects on time, aiming to provide safer, comfortable and citizen-friendly transport facilities.
Tripura Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Saturday inspected the ongoing construction of modern motor stands at Jolaibari and Santirbazar in South Tripura district, reviewing the progress and quality of the projects aimed at improving passenger facilities and strengthening local transport infrastructure.
The inspections were conducted as part of the state government’s ongoing efforts to develop modern, improved and citizen-friendly transport infrastructure across Tripura. The Transport Department has been working to expand and upgrade passenger facilities in different parts of the state, with a focus on providing safer, more comfortable and convenient services to commuters and the general public.
During his visit to Jolaibari, Chowdhury inspected the construction progress of the proposed modern motor stand, which is being developed with improved facilities for passengers. Jolaibari MLA Pramod Reang, senior officials of the Transport Department and local public representatives accompanied the Minister during the inspection.
The Minister reviewed the ongoing construction work and discussed various aspects of the project with the officials concerned. Particular attention was given to the quality of construction and the progress being made at the site. Chowdhury directed the concerned authorities to ensure that the required quality standards are strictly maintained throughout the construction process.
He also instructed the officials and the construction agency to complete the project within the stipulated timeframe, stressing the importance of timely execution of public infrastructure projects.
Following the inspection at Jolaibari, the Transport Minister visited Santirbazar, where he inspected another ongoing modern motor stand project. The Santirbazar facility is also being developed with improved passenger amenities with the objective of making local transportation more convenient and comfortable for commuters.
At the Santirbazar site, Chowdhury reviewed the current status of construction and assessed the progress of the project. He directed the officials concerned and the construction agency to maintain proper quality standards and ensure that the work is completed within the निर्धारित deadline.
The Minister reiterated that strengthening transport infrastructure remains an important priority of the state government. He said the Transport Department is working continuously to extend modern, improved and citizen-friendly transport infrastructure and services to every part of Tripura.
According to Chowdhury, the development of modern motor stands is expected to provide better facilities for passengers while also supporting the overall improvement of local transportation services. Such infrastructure can offer commuters more convenient and organised facilities and contribute to strengthening connectivity in areas such as Jolaibari and Santirbazar.
“Ensuring safe, comfortable and improved transport services for citizens is our primary objective,” the Minister said.
The inspections also highlighted the government’s emphasis on monitoring the implementation of infrastructure projects at the ground level. By reviewing construction progress and directing agencies to maintain quality and adhere to deadlines, the Transport Department aims to ensure that the completed facilities effectively serve their intended purpose.
