New Delhi: After being questioned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for over nine hours in the Delhi liquor policy case, K. Kavitha, leader of Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) and daughter of Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, departed from the ED office in New Delhi, media reports said.

She has been summoned for questioning again on March 16.

The ED asked Kavitha to provide her mobile phone, but it was at her residence. Her security personnel brought the phone from her home to the ED office and handed it over to the officials.

The investigative agency had summoned the BRS leader for questioning on March 9 in connection with the Delhi liquor policy case. However, she sought another date from the ED and proposed to appear on March 16 instead.

The ED agreed to question her on March 11.

According to ED, Kavitha was part of the South Cartel, which allegedly received kickbacks following the implementation of the now-cancelled liquor policy in Delhi. However, she has refuted these allegations and accused the government of misusing investigative agencies for political purposes.

Reacted to the summons BRS chief said his party wouldnt back down no matter what BJP does.

Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, popularly called KCR, spoke at a closed-door meeting at Telangana Bhavan, where he alleged that the BJP has been attempting to create disruptions in Telangana and for opposition party leaders through searches, raids, and ED/IT summons.

He urged his partys cadres and leaders to be ready for the forthcoming state elections.
