Chief Minister Dr manik Saha distributed the port folios to the new ministers of his cabinet.
While Dr Saha himself kept Home, Health & family Welfare, PWD and departments not given to others, senior minister Ratan Lal Nath was given power, Agriculture, Farmers’ welfare and election. Pranajit Singh Roy was given Finance, Planning and coordination and Information technology. Sushanta Chowdhury got Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Transport and tourism. Santana Chakma got Industries, Commerce, Jail, OBC welfare. Tinku Roy was given Youth Affairs, Sports, Social Welfare and social education, Labour.
Bikash Debbarma was given Tribal welfare, Handloom and Handicrafts, Sericulture and statistics. Sudhangshu Das got SC Welfare, ARD and Fisheries while Sukla Charan Noatia got Cooperation, Tribal Welfare (TRP&PTO)and Wefare of minorities.
The Chief Minister kept apart from Home two other most important departments in his hand -ICA and Education.
