Sensex Falls 71 Points, Nifty Slips 30 Points on Last Trading Day of Week

Benchmark domestic equity indices ended marginally lower on the last trading day of the week.
 
The Sensex dropped 71 points to close at 78,009. The Nifty dipped 30 points to settle at 24, 366. The broader market also remained under pressure. The Nifty Midcap 100 index declined half a per cent, while the Nifty Smallcap 100 index slipped 0.7 per cent.
