Released on July 30, 2004, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi quickly emerged as one of the biggest commercial successes of the year and remains one of Bollywood’s most loved comedy entertainers. Directed by Anees Bazmee and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under the Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment banner, the film brought together three of Hindi cinema’s biggest stars—Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra—in a memorable romantic comedy that continues to entertain audiences across generations.

The film follows the story of Sameer, portrayed by Salman Khan, a short-tempered young man who relocates to Goa in search of a fresh beginning. There, he falls in love with his beautiful neighbour Rani, played by Priyanka Chopra. However, his romantic journey becomes increasingly complicated due to the constant interference of his cheerful and mischievous roommate Sunny, portrayed by Akshay Kumar. Sunny’s playful personality and comic antics lead to a series of hilarious misunderstandings, creating one of Bollywood’s most entertaining love triangles.

The chemistry between Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar, combined with Priyanka Chopra’s charming performance, became one of the film’s biggest highlights. Their impeccable comic timing, energetic performances and memorable dialogues helped establish Mujhse Shaadi Karogi as a benchmark in the romantic comedy genre.

Apart from the lead trio, the film featured an impressive ensemble cast including Amrish Puri, Rajpal Yadav, Satish Shah, Kader Khan, Supriya Karnik, Shashikala, Kurush Deboo and Parveen Dabbas, all of whom contributed significantly to the film’s humour and emotional appeal.

Music also played a vital role in the film’s phenomenal success. The soundtrack, composed by Sajid-Wajid and Anu Malik with lyrics by Jalees Sherwani, became immensely popular. Songs such as Jeene Ke Hain Chaar Din, Lal Dupatta, Rab Kare and Aaja Soniye topped music charts and continue to enjoy popularity among Bollywood music lovers even today.
