In Men’s Cricket, India defeated hosts Zimbabwe by 90 runs in the second T20 International of the three-match series in Harare. With this victory, the Men in Blue have taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series. The win marks India’s first T20 International series victory under the captaincy of new T20 skipper Shreyas Iyer.
Chasing a huge target of 220 runs set by India, Zimbabwe were bowled out for 129 runs in the 18th over. India’s batting all-rounder Abhishek Sharma impressed with his bowling and claimed three wickets, while debutants Yash Thakur and Prince Yadav picked up two wickets each.
Earlier, after being invited to bat first, India posted 219 for 5 in the stipulated 20 overs, powered by Ishan Kishan’s 81 runs off 44 balls. Tilak Varma also made a crucial contribution, scoring 60 runs off just 29 deliveries and remaining unbeaten at the crease.
