Reacting to examination irregularities and growing nationwide demonstrations, he emphasized protecting students’ hopes, aspirations, and futures through compassionate and wise decision-making.
Actor and producer Dulquer Salmaan has expressed deep concern over the ongoing student protests at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, calling the situation “gut wrenching” and urging authorities and all stakeholders to pursue meaningful dialogue, peaceful resolutions, and decisions guided by wisdom and empathy.
The actor shared his thoughts through an Instagram post as demonstrations continue to intensify over allegations of recurring examination irregularities, including the NEET-UG paper leak controversy. His message has resonated widely on social media, joining the voices of several public figures who have spoken in support of students demanding transparency and accountability.
In his statement, Dulquer Salmaan wrote, “What’s happening at Jantar Mantar is a reminder to pause, listen, and choose understanding.” Stressing the importance of education in shaping the future of young people, he described the uncertainty faced by students as deeply painful.
“Education has always been about hope, opportunity, and the promise of a better future. Seeing young people face uncertainty is gut wrenching,” the actor said. He further highlighted the emotional and financial struggles faced by families, noting that many parents continue to shoulder heavy debts while trying to provide better opportunities for their children.
Dulquer also expressed concern over reports suggesting that some students feel they have no path forward due to academic uncertainty and repeated examination controversies. Referring to the emotional distress experienced by young aspirants, he said it was heartbreaking to witness such despair among students striving to build successful careers.
The actor emphasized that every protester represents an individual with dreams, ambitions, families, and aspirations deserving of compassion and respect. He appealed for greater understanding from all sides, saying that public discourse should prioritize humanity over division.
“My hope is for meaningful dialogue, peaceful resolutions, and decisions guided by wisdom and empathy. A future built on understanding will always be stronger than one built on division and violence,” he wrote.
The ongoing protests at Jantar Mantar gained momentum after thousands of students and supporters of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) marched toward Parliament on Monday. The demonstrators demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, alleging repeated examination irregularities and failures in maintaining the integrity of competitive examinations.
During the march, police resorted to a lathi charge to disperse protesters as they attempted to move toward Parliament. Despite the police action, demonstrations have continued, with student groups maintaining their demands for accountability, transparent investigations, and comprehensive reforms in the examination system.
The protests have also spread beyond the national capital, with demonstrations reported in several states. Student organizations have continued to call for stronger measures to restore confidence in India’s examination process, arguing that repeated controversies have undermined the trust of millions of aspirants.
