Indian Grandmaster R Praggnanandhaa produced a stunning finish to the rapid section of the Croatia Grand Chess Tour. He won all three of his matches yesterday to tie for the lead with France’s Alireza Firouzja.
Praggnanandhaa defeated Ivan Saric, Bogdan- Daniel Deac and Anish Giri to climb to the top of the standings ahead of the blitz section.
Meanwhile, reigning world champion D Gukesh drew all three of his games yesterday and is currently placed on 10 points, two behind the joint leaders. The tournament now moves into the 18-round blitz section, where the overall winner will be decided.
