In Hockey, the Indian men’s hockey team will take on arch-rivals Pakistan in the opening match of the FIH Pro League today. This will be the first encounter between India and Pakistan since their Asian Champions Trophy clash in Hulunbuir, China, in 2024, where India emerged victorious with a 2-1 win. The head-to-head record over the last 10 years heavily favours India, who remain undefeated across 17 matches, with 15 wins and two draws.
The Indian hockey team will aim to carry forward their momentum after a 3-2 win over world number two the Netherlands yesterday in their final match of the Rotterdam leg of the FIH Pro League. Jugraj Singh, Abhishek, and Rajinder Singh scored in this impressive victory. India’s other win in the Rotterdam round of the tournament was against reigning world champions and world number five Germany.
