Tripura CM Dr. Manik Saha chaired a high-level review meeting on school education, directing DMs to regularly visit schools, monitor functioning, and resolve issues promptly. Emphasizing quality education, teacher training, inclusive learning, and infrastructure development, he reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening Tripura’s education sector.
Reaffirming the state government’s commitment to improving the education sector, Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Monday stated that there would be no compromise when it comes to educational development and quality learning. Chairing a high-level review meeting of the School Education Department at the Secretariat Conference Hall, the Chief Minister emphasized the need for stronger monitoring mechanisms, improved infrastructure, enhanced teaching standards, and greater community participation in the education system.
The review meeting focused on the department’s ongoing programmes, achievements, challenges, and future action plans aimed at strengthening the overall education ecosystem in the state.
Addressing officials, Dr. Saha described the Education Department as one of the most important wings of the government and stressed that quality education remains a key priority of the state administration. He directed all District Magistrates (DMs) to conduct regular visits to schools and closely monitor their functioning to ensure effective implementation of educational initiatives.
The Chief Minister instructed district authorities to assess the condition of educational institutions, identify existing challenges, and take immediate steps to address them. He further directed District Magistrates to hold monthly review meetings to evaluate the performance of schools and the overall education system in their respective districts.
Highlighting the importance of collective responsibility, Dr. Saha called for stronger coordination among students, parents, teachers, school management committees, and local public representatives. According to him, such collaboration is essential for creating a supportive and productive learning environment for students.
“Education shows society the right path. Tripura is progressing in every sphere, and therefore we must move further ahead in the field of education as well. There will be no compromise on this issue,” the Chief Minister asserted during the meeting.
Dr. Saha noted that while teachers play a crucial role in shaping the future of students, District Magistrates also have a significant responsibility in expanding educational opportunities and ensuring the successful implementation of government schemes related to education.

At the beginning of the meeting, School Education Secretary Dr. Milind Ramteke presented a comprehensive audio-visual report outlining the department’s performance, achievements, and the current status of various educational programmes across the state. The presentation highlighted ongoing efforts to improve educational infrastructure, enhance learning outcomes, and strengthen administrative monitoring.
District Magistrates and District Education Officers from all eight districts of Tripura joined the review meeting virtually. During the interaction, the Chief Minister reviewed district-wise progress and listened to valuable suggestions and feedback from administrators and education officials regarding challenges faced at the grassroots level.
Dr. Saha expressed confidence that regular coordination and collaborative efforts among all stakeholders would help address many local-level issues more effectively and strengthen the state’s education system in the long run.
Special emphasis was also placed on inclusive education. The Chief Minister directed district authorities and education officials to identify students with disabilities and special educational needs and ensure that adequate support systems and facilities are available for them. He stressed that no child should face barriers in accessing education due to physical or learning challenges.
The Chief Minister further highlighted the importance of maintaining discipline in educational institutions and urged teachers to uphold high standards of professionalism, dedication, and responsibility. He informed officials that the state government is continuing its efforts to improve educational quality through teacher training programmes designed to enhance teaching skills and classroom effectiveness.
