In badminton, India’s Ayush Shetty entered the second round of the Indonesia Open Super 1000 after defeating China’s Weng Hong Yang in a comeback victory, winning 8-21, 22-20, 21-15. India also registered a notable win in mixed doubles, with Rohan Kapoor and Ruthvika Gadde defeating Chinese Taipei’s Yang Po-Hsuan and Hu Ling Fang in straight games, 21-14, 21-14.
However, it was a disappointing day for Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, who retired hurt from their opening-round men’s doubles match against Malaysia’s Kang Min Hyuk and Man Wei Chong after Satwik suffered an injury.
