In the Malaysia Masters Super Badminton, India’s Ashmita Chaliha advanced to the women’s singles quarterfinals after a 21-13, 21-16 win over Malaysia’s Goh Jin Wei in the pre-quarterfinals in Kuala Lumpur today. She will next face eighth seed Line Højmark Kjaersfeldt of Denmark, who defeated India’s Malvika Bansod 21-16, 8-21, 15-21.
Earlier, in the mixed doubles, pair of Sathwik Kanapuram and Radhika Sharma went down 12-21, 25-27 to Americans Presley Smith and Jennie Gai. In men’s doubles, Hariharan Amsakarunan and MR Arjun lost to China’s Hu Ke Yuan and Lin Xiang Yi.
