Naga Chaitanya’s mythological thriller ‘Vrushakarma’ completes Rajasthan shooting schedule as makers accelerate CGI-heavy post-production work. Directed by Karthik Dandu, the film promises dark mythology, adventure, treasure hunting, and intense supernatural elements with a grand cinematic scale.
The production team of the upcoming mythological thriller Vrushakarma has successfully completed a major shooting schedule in Rajasthan, marking another significant milestone for the ambitious cinematic project starring Naga Chaitanya in the lead role. The announcement was officially made by production house Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra on Saturday through its social media platforms, further heightening anticipation among movie enthusiasts and fans eagerly waiting for the film’s release.
According to the makers, the Rajasthan schedule was filmed across majestic palace locations, adding grandeur and visual richness to the film’s narrative. The production banner revealed that extensive post-production work is currently underway, especially the film’s large-scale CGI and visual effects segments, which are expected to play a crucial role in shaping the movie’s dark mythological universe.
In its official statement, the production house said that the team had completed a “crucial schedule amidst the majestic palaces of Rajasthan,” while also confirming that post-production activities were progressing at a brisk pace. The makers further hinted that an official release date announcement would be made soon.
Directed by Karthik Dandu, who earlier gained recognition for the supernatural thriller Virupaksha, Vrushakarma has already generated considerable excitement ever since the release of its intense glimpse video earlier this year. The teaser offered audiences a chilling look into a mysterious world driven by dark supernatural forces, mythology, and treasure-hunting adventures.
The glimpse video begins with a possessed man sketching the disturbing portrait of an individual whose eye is gouged out. Moments later, a terrifying bat-like creature emerges from his mouth and brutally attacks another person in the same horrifying manner depicted in the drawing. The eerie visuals, combined with an ominous voiceover about destiny and awakening powers, immediately captured the attention of viewers online.
The teaser also offered brief glimpses of actors Jayaram, Meenakshi Chaudhary, and Naga Chaitanya, revealing the film’s dark tone and mysterious atmosphere. The makers have already disclosed that Meenakshi Chaudhary plays a character named Daksha, while Jayaram portrays Professor Ranganath in the film.
Industry observers believe the film could become one of the most visually ambitious projects in Naga Chaitanya’s career. Before commencing work on the movie, the actor had openly expressed his excitement about collaborating with Karthik Dandu on a mythological thriller packed with heavy visual effects and large-scale storytelling.
Speaking in an earlier interview, Naga Chaitanya stated that the film would combine adventure, mythology, and treasure-hunting elements while exploring a cinematic scale he had never attempted before in his 15-year acting career. He described the project as a “heavy VFX-based cinema,” emphasizing the massive effort being invested into creating an immersive theatrical experience.
The actor’s first-look poster from the film had also attracted widespread attention after it was unveiled on his birthday last year. The poster presented Naga Chaitanya in a rugged and fierce avatar, showcasing a muscular physique and an intense expression that hinted at the physically demanding nature of the role.
Sharing the first-look poster on Instagram at the time, the actor simply captioned it with “#vrushakarma,” instantly sparking discussions across social media platforms among fans and film followers.
The film is being produced on a grand scale by producers BVSN Prasad and Sukumar under the banners of Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra LLP and Sukumar Writings respectively.
Apart from its star cast and intriguing storyline, Vrushakarma also boasts a technically strong crew. The story has been penned by Sukumar, known for crafting layered and unconventional narratives in Telugu cinema. Cinematography for the project is being handled by Neil D Cunha, while music composer Ajaneesh Loknath is scoring the soundtrack and background music.
The editing department is headed by National Award-winning editor Navin Nooli, whose previous works have been praised for their sharp narrative pacing. The film’s art direction has been designed by Sri Nagendra Tangala, who had earlier collaborated on Naga Chaitanya’s film Thandel.
