Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD) officials reviewed the TRIPTI project in Tripura’s Dhalai district, appreciating rural women SHG members for strengthening sustainable livelihoods, grassroots empowerment, and community-led development under the Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission initiative.

A high-level delegation from the Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD) visited the intervention area of Project TRIPTI under the Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM) at Ambassa RD Block in Dhalai district to assess the implementation and impact of the programme at the grassroots level.

The delegation included former Joint Secretary Nita Kejriwal and former Additional Secretary Charanjit Singh of the Ministry of Rural Development. Their visit focused on evaluating the progress of the TRIPTI project and understanding how the initiative has been transforming rural livelihoods and empowering women-led self-help groups across the region.

The officials were warmly welcomed by members of the Executive Committee of Swapner Siri Cluster Level Federation (CLF), who introduced the delegation to the federation’s activities, operational framework, and community-based initiatives carried out under the programme.

During the interaction session, office bearers of the CLF highlighted the achievements and developmental progress made under the TRIPTI programme in the cluster area. They shared details regarding livelihood generation, financial inclusion, women’s participation in community decision-making, and various social development initiatives supported through self-help groups (SHGs).

The visiting delegation conducted a detailed review of the implementation status of the project and interacted directly with community cadres and beneficiaries to gain firsthand knowledge of the programme’s effectiveness in rural areas. The review meeting was attended by TRLM Chief Executive Officer Tarit Kanti Chakma along with other senior mission officials and field-level representatives.

Officials also inspected several on-ground activities being carried out under the TRIPTI intervention. The delegation observed the functioning of women-led SHGs and reviewed livelihood initiatives aimed at improving economic stability among rural families.

During the field visit, the MoRD representatives appreciated the collective efforts of rural women SHG members in promoting sustainable livelihood opportunities and strengthening community development. They acknowledged the role played by grassroots institutions in enhancing social empowerment and encouraging community participation in development activities.

According to officials associated with the Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission, the visit reflected the growing importance of community-driven development models in rural governance and poverty alleviation efforts. The TRIPTI project has been contributing significantly to building self-reliant rural communities through skill development, financial support mechanisms, and women-centric livelihood programmes.

The inspection visit also provided an opportunity for beneficiaries to directly share their experiences and challenges with the visiting officials. Community members expressed optimism about the continued expansion of livelihood opportunities and support systems under the mission.
