As mandated by the Election Commission of India, the General Observer chaired a meeting today at the office of the Returning Officer of 7- Ramnagar Assembly Constituency with the contesting candidates in presence of the Police Observer, Expenditure Observer, Returning Officer, AROs, SDPOs Sadar and Sector Magistrates, Police Sector Officers and the in-charge of Election Expenditure Monitoring. The meeting was an initiative for confidence building among the public to ensure free, fair, safe and inducement free election.

    The Police Observer said, as mandated by the Constitution, the relevant acts and rules and the ECI, an election asks for a level playing field for all candidates irrespective of any party affiliation. There should not be any violation or deviation of law.

       The Expenditure Observer briefed about the limit of expenditure that each candidate can make at an Assembly Election. He urged the candidates to keep proper accounting of their expenditures.

       The General Observer emphasized upon the fact that electioneering is a team work will all stake holders playing their respective roles impartially. He also emphasized upon compliance by the political parties and candidates to Model Code of Conduct as mandated by the ECI. Voter Helpline number 0381-2320023/9233694526 was shared will all the candidates which operates 24*7. This was informed by the Returning Officer of 7- Ramnagar Assembly Constituency.

In connection with the upcoming General Assembly Election, another meeting was held at the conference hall of Jirania SDM today. The meeting was presided over by General Observer Kiran Grewal in charge of 5-Khayerpur, 10-Majlishpur and 11-Mandwi Bazar (ST) Assembly Constituency in presence of Expenditure Observer Dr. Bhegish Tiwari, Expenditure Observer B. Naveen Kumar, 3 Returning officers of the concerned Assembly Constituencies Santosh Das, Shanti Ranjan Chakma, Sushanta Debbarma, Assistant Returning Officers, Sector Officers and representatives of different political parties. General Observer Kiran Grewal called upon the representatives of different political parties to make use of c-Vigil and Suvidha Apps. The Expenditure Observer elaborately discussed various matters related to the election. Returning officers of 5-Khayerpur Assembly Constituency Santosh Das discussed upon MCC with the representatives of political parties. Returning officers of 10-Majlishpur Assembly Constituency Shanti Ranjan Chakma informed in the meeting that postal ballot voting will commence from February 8 at Birendranagar HS School, Jirania.
