Ishan Kishan’s explosive 91 powers Sunrisers Hyderabad to 216/6 against Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2026, showcasing dominant batting, crucial partnerships, and late fireworks that set a daunting target in a high-scoring thriller at Uppal.

In a high-octane clash of the Indian Premier League 2026, captain Ishan Kishan delivered a sensational batting performance, scoring a blistering 91 to guide Sunrisers Hyderabad to a commanding total of 216/6 against Rajasthan Royals at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Monday.

Opting to bat first, Hyderabad’s innings got off to a disastrous start as Jofra Archer struck on the very first delivery. Abhishek Sharma attempted an aggressive charge but mistimed his shot, resulting in a golden duck that stunned the packed Uppal crowd.

Despite the early setback, Kishan quickly took control of the innings. His aggressive intent was evident from the outset, as he punished anything loose with precision and authority. Whether it was full deliveries driven through the covers or short balls dispatched with powerful pulls, Kishan’s stroke play kept the scoreboard ticking at a rapid pace.

Meanwhile, Travis Head struggled to find rhythm and eventually fell after a cautious start, holing out to long-on off Riyan Parag. However, Kishan continued to dominate, reaching his half-century in just 30 balls with a towering slog sweep.

The momentum firmly shifted in Hyderabad’s favor during a crucial 88-run partnership between Kishan and Heinrich Klaasen. Klaasen contributed a solid 40, playing the perfect supporting role as Kishan unleashed a relentless assault on the Rajasthan bowling attack. The duo’s partnership came in just 26 deliveries, showcasing their aggressive approach.

Kishan’s innings was a masterclass in controlled aggression. He smashed eight fours and six towering sixes during his 44-ball knock, taking on bowlers across the park. His dominance was particularly evident against Archer, whom he struck for multiple boundaries despite the pacer’s early breakthrough.

The Rajasthan bowlers struggled to contain the onslaught. Sandeep Sharma and Tushar Deshpande were both taken apart during the middle overs, as Hyderabad surged past the 100-run mark with ease.

A brief interruption due to a floodlight failure did little to halt Hyderabad’s momentum. However, Kishan fell agonizingly short of a century, miscuing a pull shot off Sandeep Sharma that was safely collected by Dhruv Jurel behind the stumps.

Shortly after, Klaasen also departed, giving Archer his second wicket of the match. Despite these setbacks, Hyderabad’s lower middle order ensured a powerful finish.

Nitish Kumar Reddy played a quickfire knock of 28, smashing crucial boundaries and maintaining the scoring rate. His aggressive approach included a series of sixes that kept the pressure on Rajasthan.

Adding the final flourish was Salil Arora, who remained unbeaten on 24. His late assault, featuring multiple boundaries including a towering six over long-off, propelled Hyderabad past the 200-run mark.

For Rajasthan, Archer was the standout performer with figures of 2-37, while Parag chipped in with a wicket. However, the bowling unit largely struggled to contain Hyderabad’s batting firepower.

With a formidable total of 216/6 on the board, Sunrisers Hyderabad have placed themselves in a commanding position, setting up an exciting chase for Rajasthan Royals.
