The state government is likely to announce its decision regarding the SSA teachers’ regularization soon. According to sources the matter was discussed in the cabinet meeting today.

Sources said, the regularization of the SSA teachers likely to be implemented in a ‘modified’ form with special preference given to the TET cleared teachers. It is learnt that the cabinet felt that only the TET cleared teachers should be regularized while others -about 4442 with D El Ed clearance would be brought under ‘same work -same pay’ category. If the government regularizes only TET cleared teachers then only 45 teachers from 5132 SSA teachers will be regularized.  Other teacehrs apart from Same work Same pay will also be imparted training etc so that they can clear the TET and thus get regularized in future.

Officials were tightlipped about the exact modification but claimed on condition of anonymity it would be in line with the High Court verdict. The preference to TET cleared teachers given keeping in mind the teachers appointment guidelines and to avoid any further legal battle in future.

However, details of the cabinet decision on SSA teachers are expected to be announced by ICA minister Sushanta Chowdhury .
