Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha says BJP must win all 28 TTAADC seats to ensure peace, development, and a secure future for janajati communities, highlighting improved law and order, higher budget allocation, and governance reforms.

Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Saturday asserted that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) must secure victory in all 28 seats of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) to guarantee peace, development, and a secure future for the next generation of janajati communities.

Addressing a public programme at Borakha under Mandwi in West Tripura district, where 153 voters formally joined the BJP, the chief minister said the political mood in the tribal hill areas was undergoing a decisive transformation. According to him, people were increasingly placing their trust in the BJP after losing faith in previous regimes.

“Today’s gathering is a clear reflection of what will be witnessed across the ADC areas in the coming days,” Saha said, adding that the people had become disillusioned with both the CPI(M) and the party currently running the TTAADC. He claimed that years of neglect, political instability, and violence had stalled development in tribal regions.

The chief minister alleged that the janajati communities suffered greatly during earlier regimes, particularly under CPI(M) rule. Referring to past incidents in Mandwi, he said many tribal people lost their lives during that period, creating an atmosphere of fear and unrest. “If peace is not there, development is not possible,” Saha asserted, stressing that social harmony was the foundation for economic growth and infrastructure expansion.

Highlighting improvements in law and order, the chief minister said Tripura had registered its lowest crime rate in the last two decades. He cited assessments by NITI Aayog, which have placed Tripura among the frontrunner states in maintaining internal security and governance reforms. Saha attributed these changes to policy decisions taken by the BJP-led governments at both the Centre and the state under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The chief minister emphasized that meaningful development of the TTAADC areas could not be achieved without the active support of the Tripura state government. “Without coordination and consent from the state administration, no investor will come forward to invest in ADC areas,” he said, adding that confidence-building measures were essential to attract industries and employment opportunities in tribal regions.

Saha further revealed that the state government had allocated over 40 per cent of the total budget for the 2025–26 financial year towards the ADC-related development. The funds, he said, would be used for infrastructure, education, healthcare, connectivity, and livelihood generation in tribal-dominated areas.

“If we truly want to empower the next generation and ensure sustainable development for janajati people, then BJP candidates must win all 28 ADC seats,” the chief minister said. He argued that a BJP-led ADC would ensure better coordination with the state and central governments, resulting in faster execution of development projects.

The event also witnessed the presence of BJP general secretary Bipin Debbarma, Tribal Welfare Minister Bikas Debbarma, and several senior party leaders. Party officials said the joining of new members reflected growing public support for the BJP in ADC regions ahead of the council elections.

Political observers note that the BJP is placing strong emphasis on tribal outreach, governance reforms, and development narratives as it seeks to consolidate its influence in the TTAADC. With peace, budgetary support, and administrative coordination forming the core of its campaign, the party aims to reshape the political landscape of Tripura’s tribal areas.
