Tripura delivers an outstanding performance at the Regional IndiaSkills Competition 2025–26, winning multiple medals and qualifying candidates for the national stage, highlighting the state’s rapid growth in technical, digital, and vocational skill development.

Tripura has delivered an impressive performance at the Regional Level IndiaSkills Competition 2025–26, securing multiple medals and reinforcing its growing reputation in skill-based education and vocational excellence. The prestigious regional competition was held in Assam from January 19 to January 22, bringing together top young talents from all eight northeastern states of India.

The state recorded a significant achievement with five participants winning medals and one candidate receiving a Medallion of Excellence. This strong showing highlights Tripura’s consistent progress in technical training, digital skills, and industry-oriented education.

Tripura participated in 16 different trades at the regional level, fielding 28 candidates across various skill domains. These candidates competed against some of the best performers from the Northeast, making the achievement particularly noteworthy. Based on their outstanding performance, four candidates from Tripura have qualified for the National Level IndiaSkills Competition 2025–26, marking an important milestone for the state.

Among the gold medalists, Pritam Pal of Ranirbazar in West Tripura secured the top position in Automobile Technology, showcasing advanced technical proficiency and problem-solving skills. Another gold medal was won by Anurupa Debnath of Mohanpur in West Tripura in Mobile Application Development, reflecting Tripura’s growing strength in digital and software-based competencies.

Two candidates earned silver medals, further strengthening Tripura’s medal tally. Nilay Debnath of Manu Bazar in South Tripura won silver in Cloud Computing, a high-demand sector critical to modern digital infrastructure. Deep Debnath of Bishalgarh in Sepahijala district secured silver in Electrical Installation, demonstrating strong practical expertise and technical accuracy.

In addition, Rakhi Deb of Chawmanu in Dhalai district won a bronze medal in Beauty Therapy, highlighting the state’s expanding focus on service-sector skills and professional grooming trades. Sudeb Deb of Udaipur in Gomati district received a Medallion of Excellence in Electrical Installation, recognizing his high standard of performance despite narrowly missing a podium finish.

Officials stated that the IndiaSkills Competition is conducted in a structured, multi-tiered format. The process begins at the district level, advances through the state level, and culminates at the regional and national levels. Top national performers earn the opportunity to represent India at WorldSkills 2026, scheduled to be held in Shanghai, one of the world’s most competitive platforms for vocational excellence.

As per National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) guidelines, regional-level prize money includes Rs 75,000 for gold medalists, Rs 50,000 for silver medalists, and Rs 25,000 for bronze medalists. In addition to these central incentives, the Tripura government has announced matching state-level rewards under the Mukhya Mantri Dakhyata Unnayan Prakalpa. Medal winners will receive equivalent financial incentives, while recipients of the Medallion of Excellence will be awarded Rs 10,000.
