In a major development the state government has constituted a three member Advisory Committee to advise the government to solve the impasse relating to the 10 323 terminated teachers. The advisory committee will be headed by  Retired High Court Justice AB Paul and will also include CS Sinha, Advocate and another retired Indian Forest service Officer Prasenjit Biswas.

The Committee will have to give their advice the state government postively by March 31.

FSajal Debnath, joint director elementary education, Bibhas Brata Datta, OSD elementary and secondary education, Laxman Deb UDC secondary education and Prasanta Pal UDC secondary education will help the committee .

The intention of the government has been made clear that it wanted to find a way out to give the retrenched teachers job back. Justice Retired AB Paul has been for the last few years time and again writing on the issue and saying that there were scopes for giving back the retrenched teachers their jobs. The Committee will look into the legal implications as well as administrative ways while giving their suggestion to the government.

Only recently Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha indicated that the government was trying to find out solution to the problem but for legal complications it could not so so. The deadline fixed March 31 made it clear that the government sought to give the jobs job in its present tenure itself.

10,323 teachers were rendered jobless by Court order during the Left Front government.  First a Single Bench of Tripura High Court asked the case of the litigants but Left Front government went to High Court Division Bench against the order. The High Court Division Bench Headed by Chief Justice Dipak Gupta in an order termed the entire recruitment process illegal. The Left Frotn governemnt went to Supreme Court which held the High Court Division Benvh order right and  10, 323 teachers lost their job. It was widely alleged that the then  law secretary, Advocate General and Education Secretary wrongly advised the government.

The BJP in its Vision Document of 2018 said that if it came to power it would try to find out a solution to the impasse.
