A special Navagraha Yajna was held on Sunday at the historic Durga Bari Temple in Agartala, drawing devotees, spiritual leaders, and researchers from across the region. The sacred ritual was organized by the Medical Astrology Research group with the objective of promoting awareness about the deep-rooted connection between astrology and health sciences.

The event was formally inaugurated by MLA and Chief Whip of the Tripura Legislative Assembly, Kalyani Roy. Her presence added significance to the occasion, reflecting institutional support for initiatives that blend traditional knowledge systems with modern scientific perspectives.

Representing the Medical Astrology Research group, Dr. Soma Chowdhury and Jayanta Bhattacharjee played key roles in coordinating the ceremony. Several devotees and participants attended the yajna, offering prayers for peace, well-being, and collective harmony. Monks and spiritual leaders from various monasteries and temples were also present, lending spiritual guidance and sanctity to the proceedings.

The Navagraha Yajna, dedicated to the nine celestial bodies, is traditionally believed to help balance planetary influences and promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Organizers stated that the ritual was conducted following traditional Vedic procedures, emphasizing holistic health and spiritual harmony.

Addressing the gathering, Kalyani Roy highlighted the longstanding relationship between astrology and medical science. She noted that ancient knowledge systems have historically viewed health as a balance between cosmic forces and human physiology. Appreciating the efforts of Dr. Soma Chowdhury and her team, she described the program as a meaningful step toward integrating spiritual practices with health awareness.

The MLA also announced that a Gita Yajna would soon be organized at the Durga Bari Temple. The upcoming event will include day-long religious observances, scriptural recitations, and various spiritual activities aimed at fostering moral values and inner peace among participants.
