Unity Promo Fest 2025 energizes Tripura’s Jampui Hills with cultural showcases, tourism boosts, and major infrastructure updates. Ministers inaugurate the event and renovated Eden Tourist Lodge, highlighting the region’s rising tourist inflow and Tripura’s growing status as a premier tourism destination.
Jampui Hills, one of Tripura’s most prized tourist destinations, came alive on Friday evening as the much-awaited Unity Promo Fest 2025 was inaugurated at Vanghmun village. The event marked the beginning of a vibrant cultural celebration that not only attracted visitors from across the state but also underscored Tripura’s rapidly rising status on India’s tourism map.
The grand inauguration was led by Agriculture Minister Ratan Lal Nath, who was joined by Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury and Industries and Commerce Minister Santana Chakma. Their presence added charisma and momentum to the festival, which has quickly evolved into a catalyst for local economic activity, cultural promotion, and tourism development.
In his inaugural address, Minister Ratan Lal Nath emphasized that the government is committed to projecting Tripura as one of India’s finest tourism destinations. He highlighted the tremendous growth in tourist footfall over the years and reiterated the government’s focus on expanding tourism infrastructure to attract domestic and foreign visitors.
One of the major highlights of the evening was the inauguration of the newly renovated Eden Tourist Lodge at Jampui Hills. Minister Nath described the lodge as a “perfect blend of comfort and nature,” offering tourists panoramic views of the serene, mist-covered hills. The renovation is expected to significantly enhance visitor experience and increase the region’s hospitality capacity.
The Unity Promo Fest, first launched in 2024, has rapidly gained prominence for its aim to project Tripura’s tourism potential on both national and international fronts. Building on last year’s success, the 2025 edition is being held on a much larger scale across six major tourism destinations—Narikelkunj, Belonia, Udaipur, Jampui Hills, Neermahal, and Agartala.
The key attraction of this year’s fest will be the grand show at Swami Vivekananda Stadium, where Bollywood singer Jubin Nautiyal is scheduled to perform live on December 12. This high-profile performance is anticipated to draw huge crowds and add further visibility to Tripura’s cultural vibrancy.
The Agriculture Minister also shared significant data demonstrating Tripura’s tourism growth trajectory. Tourist arrivals have surged from 4,19,807 in 2016–17 to 7,07,173 in 2024–25, marking a remarkable rise in overall footfall, including a near-doubling of foreign tourist arrivals. Such numbers highlight Tripura’s increasing popularity as a natural, cultural, and adventure tourism hub.
He further stressed that tourism remains one of the world’s most powerful engines of economic growth, generating employment, stimulating local businesses, and fostering cultural harmony. The Unity Promo Fest, he said, plays a vital role in strengthening cultural unity while promoting homestays, local cuisine, handicrafts, and indigenous lifestyles.
In terms of infrastructure development, Minister Nath pointed to major achievements in the Kanchanpur sub-division, which directly benefits Jampui Hills’ accessibility. These include:

These developments have significantly improved connectivity for tourists traveling to the hill range.
Additionally, under various developmental schemes since 2018, the government has extended benefits to thousands of families in the Jampui region. A total of 2,151 beneficiaries have been covered under PMAY-G and PM-Janman schemes, 2,161 households have received water connections, and 1,386 PHH families are currently receiving free ration support.
The inaugural evening was also graced by North Tripura Zilla Sabhadhipati Aparna Nath, MLA Philip Kumar Reang, Tourism Secretary UK Chakma, and several other dignitaries. Their presence highlighted the collective governmental commitment toward transforming Jampui Hills into a thriving center of cultural unity, tourism, and sustainable development.
