The counting of votes was also taken up for by-elections to eight assembly constituencies spread over 7 States. These constituencies are Budgam and Nagrota in Jammu and Kashmir, Anta in Rajasthan, Ghatsila in Jharkhand, Jubilee Hills in Telangana, Tarn Taran in Punjab, Dampa in Mizoram and Nuapada in Odisha.
In Rajasthan, Congress candidate Pramod Jain Bhaya has won Anta assembly seat. He defeated BJP cadidate Morpal Suman by a margin 15 thousand 612 votes.
In Punjab, Aam Aadmi Party candidate Harmeet Singh Sandhu has won Tarn Taran assembly seat. He defeated Shiromani Akali Dal cadidate Sukhwinder Kaur by a margin 12 thousand 91 votes.
In Jammu & Kashmir, BJP candidate Devyani Rana has won Nagrota assembly seat. She defeated J&K National Panthers Party (India) candidate Harsh Dev Singh by a margin of 24 thousand 647 votes. PDP candidate Aga Syed Muntazir Mehdi is leading in Budgam.
In Mizoram, Mizo National Front candidate Dr. R. Lalthangliana has won Dampa seat. He defeated his nearest rival and Zoram People’s Movement candidate Vanlalsailova by a margin of 562 votes.
In Odisha, BJP candidate Jay Dholakia is leading in Nuapada.
In Jharkhand, JMM candidate Somesh Chandra Soren is leading in Ghatsila.
In Telangana, Congress candidate Naveen Yadav V is leading in Jubilee Hills seat.
