PM Modi sanctions ₹2 lakh from PM Relief Fund for cancer patient Anita Pal Das after MP Biplab Kumar Deb’s appeal. The swift approval highlights Modi’s compassionate leadership and the government’s commitment to citizen welfare.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved a financial aid of ₹2 lakh from the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund (PMRF) for the treatment of Anita Pal Das, a resident of Champamura under Khayerpur Assembly Constituency in West Tripura, who is battling a critical form of cancer.

The approval follows an urgent appeal made by Member of Parliament (MP) for West Tripura and former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, who personally forwarded the patient’s request to the Prime Minister’s Office. The sanction was processed in record time, symbolizing both swift administrative action and the Prime Minister’s compassionate approach toward citizens facing medical emergencies.

Swift Relief Through Prime Minister’s Relief Fund

The Prime Minister’s Relief Fund, established to provide immediate financial assistance to individuals in distress, has once again come to the rescue of a citizen in dire need.
According to officials, upon receiving the request, the PMO swiftly verified the medical details and approved the sanction within a very short period. The amount sanctioned will cover the cost of advanced cancer treatment for Anita Pal Das, who has been undergoing intensive therapy at a specialized hospital.

This rapid response underlines the efficiency of the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund mechanism, particularly for life-threatening diseases such as cancer, heart ailments, and kidney failure, where timely intervention can be life-saving.

Biplab Kumar Deb Expresses Gratitude to PM Modi

Announcing the sanction on Wednesday, Biplab Kumar Deb took to social media to share the development and express his deep gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In his post, the MP wrote,

“I sincerely thank and express my deep gratitude to Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji for his unwavering support. Whenever urgent medical cases are brought to his attention, the Prime Minister responds with utmost empathy and prompt approval.”

Deb emphasized that such compassionate decisions not only bring relief to the families of patients but also strengthen public faith in the Prime Minister’s people-centric governance model.

He added that the gesture would bring new hope to Anita Pal Das and her family, who were struggling to afford the high cost of treatment.

A Ray of Hope for Cancer Patient and Family

For Anita Pal Das, the sanction from the PM Relief Fund has come as a lifeline. Her family, residing in Champamura, had been facing financial distress due to the escalating cost of treatment.
The approved grant of ₹2 lakh will now allow them to continue with advanced medical procedures, which were previously on hold due to lack of funds.

Family members expressed their heartfelt gratitude to both Prime Minister Modi and Biplab Kumar Deb for their timely intervention. “We had lost hope, but this help has renewed our strength to fight,” said a relative of the patient.

Government’s Commitment to Humanitarian Assistance

Over the years, the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund has played a pivotal role in providing financial support to thousands of citizens across India. The fund caters to cases of major surgeries, cancer treatment, organ transplants, and accident victims, ensuring that medical crises do not lead to financial ruin for poor and middle-income families.

The recent sanction for Anita Pal Das reaffirms the government’s commitment to social welfare and compassionate governance, where every genuine appeal receives due attention.
In states like Tripura, where access to specialized healthcare is limited, such financial support has proven to be a crucial safety net for vulnerable families.

A Message of Empathy and Efficiency

The prompt approval of assistance for Anita Pal Das highlights a broader message — that of a responsive government led by a Prime Minister who prioritizes human welfare above all else.
