In the Girls’ Singles, the star player Tanvi Sharma, the top-seeded player, defeated Indonesia’s Oei Winarto (15-12, 15-7). She will face fourth seed Ranithma Liyanage of Sri Lanka next.

The eighth seed, Unnati Hooda, had an easier match, beating Alice Wang of the USA (15-8, 15-5).  Rakshitha Sree Ramraj, seeded tenth, faced a tougher fight, losing the first game against Singapore’s Aaliyah Zakaria (11-15, 15-5, 15-8). Both Tanvi and Rakshitha will now face strong opponents in the next round.

In the Boys’ Singles, India’s hopes now rest entirely on Gnana Dattu TT. He achieved a notable victory by defeating a higher-ranked Indian player, Suryaksh Rawat, in three games (11-15, 15-6, 15-11).

In mixed doubles, Bhavya Chhabra and Vishakha Toppo also advanced after beating Denmark’s Aske Romer and Jasmin Willis 15-13, 15-11. These successes keep India’s medal hopes alive at the home tournament.
