Indian weightlifter Mirabai Chanu clinched a silver medal in the 48kg division at the World Weightlifting Championships 2025 in Forde, Norway. She achieved a total lift of 199kg in the competition. She also set the new national records in both Clean & Jerk with 115 kg and in total lift with 199 kg. This is her 3rd World Championship medal. North Korean weightlifter Ri Song-gum dominated the event by winning three gold medals in the 48kg division. Ri set new world records with a 91kg snatch, a 122kg clean and jerk, and a total lift of 213 kg. Thailand’s Thanyathon Sukcharoen took the bronze medal with a total lift of 198kg.
